Walk With Jesus 2012

Methodist Mission Home is hosting our 16th annual “Walk With Jesus” March 23-25, 2012 for the Southwest Center for Higher Independence. This is a spiritual weekend retreat that provides young adults with disabilities the opportunity to have a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Walk With Jesus” is for young adults with disabilities and those who are deaf.  Many of our Walkers do not have a relationship with Jesus. The retreat will be their first introduction to Jesus where they learn about His unconditional love. Many a Christian journey has started at a “Walk With Jesus.” The weekend is an amazing mountain top experience for these young adults where they find out that Jesus loves them just as they are. They will also learn how to continue their “walk” with Jesus once the retreat is over. It is a joy filled weekend where the blessings of the Lord are poured out!

If you would like to support this spiritual “Walk” there are several ways you can:

  • Commit to praying for the “walkers” during the retreat time - let the Chaplain know that you will be praying for them
  • Send a card or poster with words of encouragement for the walkers (please send to the attention of Chaplain Carol Williams)
  • Think about volunteering for the “walk”
  • Financial support to help pay for spiritual materials used and for the seven meals provided during the “walk” for walkers and volunteers. Please donate online or send checks made payable to Methodist Mission Home with “Walk with Jesus” in the memo
