Dear Expectant Mother, Our hearts go out to you in this time of uncertainty. We have the utmost respect for your decision to consider an adoption plan. While we cannot possibly know what you are going through right now, we do know that you want what is best for your child. It is our prayer that whatever you decide, whatever path you choose, that you know God will see you through this. About Us We have been happily married for ten years and are in our early thirties. We love children and want to add to our family. We have one adopted daughter, Jenna, who is three years old and one cat, Chip. We are both college graduates. Chris is an engineer with a large firm while Jamie works part time at our house with computer software. Chris is a laid back and light-hearted person with a witty sense of humor. He tries to handle life’s challenges without letting them stress him out. Jamie is organized and nurturing. She has lots of compassion for others and loves helping people. Jenna is a delightful firecracker who is full of energy and zest for life. She is very inquisitive and curious, and cannot wait to be a big sister. Our Home We own a 4-bedroom home in a quiet suburban Houston neighborhood. We selected the area because of the great schools and safe environment in which to raise our children. We have lots of space for kids to run around and play in the back yard. The neighborhood park, swimming pool, and elementary school are a short five-minute walk from our home. Since we are already parents, our home is filled with the wonderful business of joyful laughter, moments of discovery, quiet times of reading, and imaginative games of pretend.
Our Interests Most of all, we enjoy spending time together as a family and spending time with our extended family and friends. We enjoy the outdoors, sports, traveling, and scrapbooking. We volunteer in our church to help prepare couples for marriage and we enjoy babysitting our friends’ kids so they can do the same. We also enjoy the outdoor concerts at our local town square and have a family membership at the Houston Zoo. Chris enjoys reading, exercising, fixing things around the house, singing in the church choir, and bar-b-queing. Jamie enjoys cooking, spending time with children, working on household projects, and going on outings with Jenna. Family and Friends Chris’ parents live in Houston and treasure their active role as grandparents. Chris’ sister, Amy, lives in Dallas and we see her several times a year. Amy doesn’t have any children yet, so she really enjoys spending time with Jenna. Jamie’s mom and step-father live in Chicago. Jamie’s sister, Jen, and our niece Erika live in Cleveland and Jen’s oldest daughter, Jaclyn lives in Rhode Island. We traditionally see all of them two times a year over the holidays and stay in touch with phone calls and webcam visits. Through our volunteering, we have a large network of friends that share our family values. Since they all have children, Jenna has plenty of playmates. We have three Godchildren and they are very dear to us. As Parents We Promise... While we can’t promise to be “perfect” parents to your child, we can promise to love, cherish, spend quality time with and pass on our Christian beliefs and values to our children. We believe open adoptions are healthiest for everyone involved. We currently have 2-3 visits a year with Jenna’s birthmother and send letters and pictures in between visits. We want our children to be proud of their heritage and their birth families and promise to always foster a healthy relationship with you.
Sincerely,
Chris & Jamie
