Thank you for reading our profile. We are Derek and Laura. We know that you are making a very difficult choice right now. We want to let you know that your act of placing a child for adoption is a very selfless, brave and considerate action. We know you are concerned about this baby’s future. We want to let you know that the both of us are going to provide unconditional love and care for this baby.

We met at college in 2003 at Stephen F Austin State University, and fell in love soon after we met. We have been married for four years and our love grows every day. Laura works as a counselor and Derek works for the state of Texas in the legal field. We love to spend time outdoors and go hiking, camping and traveling. Laura is a great cook and loves to spend time trying new recipes and cooking Cajun classics as well. Laura also likes sports and to read and dance. She has spent time studying ballet. Derek likes to spend time out doors and playing sports. He also likes history and enjoying learning new things. We have travel to Central America, Mexico, Hawaii, and other place to hike up mountains and study different cultures. We are also very active in church and volunteer in the church nursery. We are a very active family and like to spend as much time together as possible.

We have a very spacious home that would allow a child plenty of room to play and be active. Our house sits on nearly an acre and already has a swing set and slide. We have a dog, Heidi, who is very loving and playful, and a cat, Jinxy, that is very sweet and adorable. We love to spend time in the backyard playing catch with Heidi or just sitting under the stars looking up at the constellations. We would love to give a child the opportunity to play outside in a big backyard and to teach him/her about the outdoors and playing together.

Derek is everything that I could possibly dream. He is the love of my life. I have never met such a compassionate, caring, understanding man. Derek demonstrates these traits in home, at work, and with family. He helps people around him see the potential within themselves. It is such a blessing to be married to such an amazing man. He is so patient and loving with the children in the nursery and the children in the family. I am so eager to raise a child with him.

About Laura According to Derek 

Laura is the most kind, compassionate, loving person that I have ever met. She always looks for the best in people and always has a kind word. Her compassion has led to her work as a counselor and has helped many people in their lives. She is a natural with kids and her love for children really shows with children. She will make a wonderful mother and show a child the up most love and care.

Family and Friends

We are very close with both Derek’s and Laura’s family and siblings and visit them very often. They are very loving and supportive. We spend the holidays with Derek’s or Laura’s family. The entire family is ready and eager to shower this child with love.

Our Promise

We both promise to show a child unconditional love and support, we will give this child plenty of hugs and kisses and show them how much we love him/her on a daily basis. We are Christians and are active in our church which has a great youth program with plenty of friends and activities for him/her to grow. We are very eager to teach and guide as he/she grows up. This child will be raised with encouragement, acceptance and care. We will show this child how valuable she/he is. We can not wait to open our home and hearts to this child.
