Our Family We have been married for 11½ years and 2½ years ago adopted our daughter Alexandra through the Methodist Mission Home. She has been a total joy and blessing to our lives. We have known since before she became a part of our lives that we wanted more than one child. We both have sisters, Ben’s older and Melissa’s younger. Life has been great having siblings! Alexandra is an active two year old who loves life. She has been waiting for a baby brother or sister to play with. We also need to tell you about our oldest “children” Madison, Emma, and Jake (our dogs), and Isabella (our cat). We love our animals and they bring a lot of joy to our lives. We have an open relationship with Alex’s birth family. Our Home and Jobs We have a great home. We live in a smaller neighborhood where we know many of our neighbors. Our neighborhood has a lot of kids and a community park and pool.We have a four bedroom house with a great backyard; both Alex and a new brother or sister will have their own rooms. We spend a lot of time playing outside and swimming in the pool, and we love to ride our bikes around the neighborhood. Ben is a manager at a large company. He has worked there for six years. Melissa is a psychologist and loves her job. We both feel extremely lucky to have great jobs that are stable and rewarding. Our Extended Families We saved the best for last. We are very lucky to have incredible, supportive, and loving families. Ben is very close to his family and we are very fortunate to have most of Ben’s family in Austin. Melissa’s parents and Grandmother live in Oklahoma, and her sister and family live in Kansas City. Even though her family is farther away we get to see them every other month or so, and we take a family vacation every year to Cabo San Lucas Mexico with Melissa’s family. Ben’s sister has four children and Melissa’s sister has two. So there are lots of cousins to play with! Finally Just know that we are so excited to be starting this process again. We can’t wait to welcome a new baby into our family. We have a lot of love to give and we have fun together! We will be thinking of you as you make this tough decision. If we can answer any questions for you please contact us through the Methodist Mission Home. |
