INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION

Methodist Mission Home offers International Adoptions in partnership with the Children's Home Society of Minnesota. The program offers adoption opportunities in India, China, Korea, Ethiopia, Kazakstan, Peru, Russia, Columbia, Guatemala, Ecuador and Vietnam. Adopting internationally is an exciting, enriching experience that offers travel abroad and the opportunity to learn foreign cultures and customs.

Not only does adopting internationally assist families in achieving their dream of parenthood, but also fulfills the dream of children in orphanages who await the love of a family.

Advantages of adopting internationally include the option to:
• Select the age and gender of the child
• Adopt later in life
• Select country and culture
• Adopt as a single parent
• Obtain medical information/diagnosis of the child
• Utilize an alternative method to open adoption

International Adoption Information
• Children's ages range from newborn to 12 years
• Average waiting period between 6-15 months
• Average fees range between $12,250 - $28,150, plus travel

OLDER CHILD ADOPTIONS

More than 3,000 Texas children await adoption. Do you have room in your heart for a child who needs a family to call theirs forever? This program is made possible through a contract between Methodist Mission Home and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS). Methodist Mission Home helps TDFPS find permanent, loving homes for children in State custody.

Benefits from Adopting an Older Child
• Little or no cost to the adoptive family
• Average waiting period is between 12-18 months after a 30-hour course and home study is completed
• Most older children are eligible for subsidies, special post-adoption services (including counseling for the family) and Medicaid

If you would like to open your heart and home to an older child contact Maggie Garcia at (210) 696-2410 or (800) 842-5433 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

EMBRYO ADOPTION

Methodist Mission Home in partnership with Nightlight Christian Adoptions and its Snowflakes Embryo Adoption program offers home studies for Embryo Adoptions. Through MMH, potential adoptive families residing in Texas prepare to enter the Snowflakes program by meeting mandatory home study state requirements and participating in supplemental embryo adoption education.

MMH only provides home studies for embryo adoption and does not conduct actual embryo adoptions or donations.

Why embryo adoption?
• Embryo Adoption is a proven, viable adoption alternative
• Embryo Adoption is a loving option to families of the estimated 500,000 embryos frozen in clinics throughout the U.S.
• Adoptive families will receive autobiographical information, medical health history, and pictures from the family whose embryos you adopt
• Adoptive families will experience pregnancy and give birth to an adopted child

For more information on Embryo Adoptions contact Helen Huff at (210) 696-2410, ext. 105 or (800) 842-5433 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
